Usinowitz glides to bronze in Morris County Championships

Dana Usinowicz picked up a bronze medal in the Morris County Track &
Field championships contested at Randolph High School on Wednesday when she glided over the 100-meter hurdles to
a third place finish in 17.02 seconds. Alison Marganski cleared 5-0 to finish fifth in the high jump. In the bous
division, David Marshall supplied the four team points when he hurled the javelin 171-7 to finish in fourth place.
Pequannock edged Montville 161-171 in a Northern Hills Conference golf match played at the Sunset Valley Golf Club
on Wednesday. Matt Regen carded the low nine-hole round of 37 as the Golden Panthers upped their record to 14-2-1.
Jay Diamond toured the nine-holes in 40 strokes with Don DeMichino and A.J. Fulton turning in rounds of 42.
In an NHC tennis match, the Golden Golden Panthers routed Bishop Francis 5-0 , losing only two games all afternoon.
Jason Ichinco blanked Peter Sarpony 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles matchup and Dave Terpstra matched that effort
at second singles in whitewashing William Martin. Scott Rutkowski cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Tony Beja in
the third singles slot. Eric Loeffler and Lee Palaga shut out Zane Durant and Tony Lucas in the first doubles meeting
while the No. 2 tandem of Mike Herman and Blake Oliver came through with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Hugh Padilla
and Alban Jones.
Pequannock squeaked out a 12-11 victory over West Milford in a NHC - Skyline Division baseball game played in Pequannock
on Wednesday. Steve VandeVrede drilled a double that plated Mike Collins with the run in the eighth inning after
Rory Scanlan had knotted the game in the seventh with a two-run double.
On Wednesday in a NHC softball game, Pequannock defeated Montville to up its record to 19-3 overall as the Golden
Panthers remained unbeaten in the conference and claimed the title. Kim Walters scattered a pair of singles while
Jessica Schullen legged out a three-bagger and Laura Cronin drilled a double.
